Prohibition Gin Virtual Masterclass - Taste 4 Unique Gins!

During the masterclass, we'll dive deep into the founders, history, values and uniqueness of the distillery. They've produced numerous highly innovative gins such as a gin made with blood orange  (locally sourced from Loxton in the Riverland, Adelaide) and most notably, the Moonlight Gin - equal parts dark and light, reflecting the colour changes of the moon. It’s a pink gin for those unafraid to embrace their dark side.

We'll elaborate on what makes this gin so special, provide in-depth knowledge of gin and flavour botanicals as well as special insights into the distillation processes - trade secrets😉.  Every gin ever released has won local and international awards for quality, including the highly coveted double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.  

This exclusive masterclass is presented by Timothy Barnes, who has over 15 years of experience in the spirits industry, and is a former spirits manager at Burnt Ends Cellars and Diageo. With his dedicated knowledge of spirits, he has taught as many as 2000 bartenders in luxury spirit brands.

Prohibition Original: 

Blood orange and ruby red grapefruit deliver a fresh citrus edge, taking juniper, coriander and ginger root on a journey away from the standard. Australian native lemon myrtle and subtle notes of green tea, vanilla and lavender soften the finish and draw out flavour depth on the palate. The result is a sophisticated, deep flavour with a fresh citrus note and warm peppery finish.

Prohibition Moonlight:

A dance of flavour, florals and aromas - watch the colour-shift explode with luminescence when mixed. 

This bootlegger’s bouquet combines cold distilled pink lady apple with native blood limes and rare red juniper. Black goji, clove and hibiscus tease the mid palate, sandalwood nut provides mouthfeel while honeybush gives length.

Prohibition Blood Orange Gin:

Juicy, loud, and playful – they are paired with Riverland lemons and mandarins for citrus contrast and depth. Strawberry gum, chamomile and cinnamon myrtle enhance the floral characteristics.

Prohibition Juniperus:

Juniperus is their most classical expression and a tribute to a London Dry Gin. Their hero botanical Juniper is distilled whole, crushed, macerated, and vapour infused to attain the highest level of complexity and depth. Grains of Paradise and cassia bark add warmth and structure, softened by Riverland citrus, vanilla and macadamia, integrating the palate.
